The Clear Take on Water and Wastewater Today

The Internal Process of Assuring Regulatory Compliance

Alan MeyerLast month, I dedicated my column to the issue of regulatory compliance and the importance of keeping our clients’ best interests protected at all times. Integrity is the cornerstone of how we do business. When we put ourselves forward as authorities in dealing with issues of regulatory compliance, we set a high standard for ourselves as a company.

The heart of compliance always begins on the front lines in the water and wastewater industry. The first sign of trouble is always found at the source. As a company, we assure that our employees always complete the required testing, paperwork and maintenance and do the math correctly to assure that our clients are compliant at all times. There are no shortcuts.

That’s why when we hire and train our employees, one of the first steps we take is to have employees take and pass an Ethics Class. Honesty is key and, when there is a problem, no matter what it is, our employees know that an “Out of Compliance” report is mandatory and that the proper steps to address any problem must be taken immediately. As I like to say, “Do the right thing and you do it right.”
