The Clear Take on Water and Wastewater Today

Spotlight on Jason Rossow

Operator – Lakefield, Minnesota

Jason RossowJason Rossow was determined to enter the water and wastewater field even in high school. The Lakefield water and wastewater operator at that time gave Jason a firsthand look at the facilities and a basic understanding of how the plant worked.

This inspired Jason to attend St. Cloud Technical & Community College’s Water Environment Technologies program. Upon graduation, he began his PeopleService career as an operator in Clarinda, Iowa, and serendipitously in 1998 transferred to his hometown, Lakefield, where he now operates the very same facilities that attracted him to the field many years ago.

Jason’s hard work, dedication and commitment to staying up to date on the latest water and wastewater best practices were recently acknowledged by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. He was one of 19 PeopleService operators who earned Certificates of Commendation at the 2016 Wastewater Treatment Facility Operational Awards.

Jason appreciates that his formal and continued education gives him the opportunity to help the people in the community in which he grew up.

“Every day I learn something new,” he said. “If you’re not going to the conferences, reading the latest research and staying educated, you’re going to fall behind quickly in this industry. No two days in this job are the same. PeopleService gives me the opportunity to put my education into practice on a daily basis, and my colleagues in the PeopleService network are never more than a phone call away when we want to share our expertise.”
